Only 1 month left!

Licking her lips and waiting for her first cake. Chocolate? Strawberry? Lemon?

It's really only Tuesday?

I looked at Sandy today and said "it's Wednesday right?" She corrected me with a simple reply of "Tuesday Rhiannon. Tuesday." It's hard to believe that 4 days ago the Howe patriarch was admitted to the hospital, he was finally released today. It was decided that he would live out his remaining days in the house that he built with the family that he raised there. Jess and Adrian flew in from Los Angeles, Aunt Connie and her motley crew drove up from Virginia and the rest of us are here as always, spending days and nights together as a family should at this time.

While it seems hard to find positive thoughts right now there are a few that stick out in my mind. I'm happy that Justin and I have been able to be here the last 5 months and that we have re-connected with his family. I'm honored that the Howe family has so graciously welcomed me into the family with open arms and love in their hearts. Finally, words cannot express how wonderful it has been to watch Tatum with this side of her family. While she may not have many memories of her Great Grandpa Red, she will have lots of pictures and feel the presence of his love.

Library Friday

We finally found local library that does baby story time! The New Hartford Library has story time every other Friday and today just happened to be one of those days. We had a little miscommunication when we arrived and actually ended up missing todays session but Tatum was able to play with other kids in the library's toy area and, from the length of the nap she later took, she seemed to enjoy herself.

Tatum made a new friend, Olivia, who is 9 months old. The two were sitting on the floor staring at each other when Tatum made the first move. Heather, the other mother, and I looked at each other. Heather had the "what's your baby going to do to my precious girl" look in her eye and I promptly gave Tatum the "please don't hit/poke/make this girl cry" look. To both of our surprise, Tatum crawled right up and gave Olivia a kiss on the lips. Such a sweet girl. Then she did it again. Ok, time to stop. I told Tatum that Olivia was like someones toy, we didn't know where she'd been.

We had hoped to be out a little more today but with a high of 12 today it was just too cold. To Great Grandma and Grandpa's house we go tomorrow and Sunday is our weekly dinner with Patrick and Amanda. Justin's cousin Erica and her boyfriend Tyler recently moved here from Virginia and they will be joining us as well. We even convinced Sandy to have dinner by bribing her with vegi lasagna. Hopefully I can make it in under 3 hours this time.

I'll get some new pics up after this weekend. Until then, enjoy this one with Tatums fangs!

Someone was tired

On Sunday we went to the Utica Schools Faculty & Student Art Show at Utica College with Amanda and Patrick. Amanda and I have been learning how to crochet and I made a hat for Tatum the previous night. I was very proud of myself even thought the hat turned out a little big. It seems to make a good eye pillow for tired girls, however.

My first post. Mainly a test.

After numerous tries with sending e-mails, keeping everyone in the loop with pictures and stories, etc I have finally decided to try a blog. So here it is. Tatum's very own blog site. I hope that this works and everyone is able to keep a little more up to date with her.

Xoxo,
Rhiannon
